The Cost of Freedom

I'd longed to see the War Memorial in Korea because of my Korean heritage. However, residing in Virginia, I visited the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C., with my parents instead. The lifelike statues of soldiers at the memorial, appearing to mourn their fallen peers, deeply moved me. The central message, "Freedom is not free," drove home the reality that the sacrifice of courageous servicemen bought our freedom.
